Palworld doesn't work well alongside the security software Norton. If Norton and Palworld are active at the same time, the game may crash unexpectedly.
If it keeps crashing even without Norton running, contact Pocketpair support.

Xbox and Xbox (PC version) cross-play is available.
Xbox ↔ Steam cross-play is not available in the current build; Pocketpair plans to support it in a future update.

Pick up fallen branches and pebbles for wood and stone, or hit trees and rocks by hand. Build a Workbench and craft an axe and a pickaxe to gather much faster.
Then pick a spot and place a Palbox — its location becomes your base.
As you level up, craft weapons and Pal Spheres, weaken wild Pals and capture them. Pals are combat power and a workforce at your base.

Pals are easier to catch when their HP is low, when they're afflicted with a status effect, or when they're caught in a trap.
High-level Pals are hard to catch: craft stronger spheres, and raise your global capture power by offering Lifmunk Effigies at a Statue of Power.

Capturing a new species grants bonus XP. You get the capture bonus up to 10 times per species, so catching many Pals matters.
Defeating powerful Pals across the map also grants a lot of XP to you and your Pals.

Ancient technology can only be unlocked with Ancient Technology Points, obtained by defeating boss enemies (such as tower bosses).

Unlock the ancient technology Egg Incubator and build it at your base. Ancient technology is unlocked with Ancient Technology Points from bosses.

Partner skills are innate per-species abilities — riding a Pal, having a Pal fire a gun, etc. Some require Pal Gear, crafted at a Pal Gear Workbench.
Activate it by holding F (controller: X) while the Pal is out of its sphere. Some Pals also grant passive effects just by being in your party; check the Pal Party menu.

Offering Lifmunk Effigies at a Statue of Power permanently increases your chance of capturing Pals with spheres.
You can build a Statue of Power yourself or find them at church ruins around the world.

Offer a Pal's soul at a Statue of Power to enhance that specific Pal's stats. Higher tiers of enhancement require larger Pal souls.

Durability drops with use; at 0 the item breaks and loses performance. Build a Repair Bench and spend materials to restore it to full.

Unlock, craft and equip a Common Shield — the shield is very important.
Unlock and equip the Cloth Outfit (body armor), and practice roll-dodging (Ctrl / controller B) — you can dodge even while holding a weapon or sphere.
If it's still too hard, switch difficulty to Casual via Change World Settings.

HP recovers naturally over time, and faster by sleeping in a bed.
Source: Official Palworld FAQ ↗
No. Even if a Pal is incapacitated you keep it. Put it back in the Palbox at your base for a while to recover its HP.

Dropped items stay at the point of death for a long time. Depending on world settings you may also drop Pals on death, but they remain at the death point too.

Placing a Palbox makes the surrounding area your guild's base; the Palbox is its center.
A base is a fast-travel point, lets you summon Pals to work and build, and lets you leave wounded Pals to recover HP over time.
Source: Official Palworld FAQ ↗
The Palbox needs open space right behind it to summon Pals, and a flat surface with enough room.
If placement fails: return your summoned Pals to their spheres, rotate the Palbox so it doesn't overlap your character, and don't build it against walls.

Press C (controller: press right stick) to enter Disassembly Mode. Disassembling returns the building's resources to your inventory.

Widen spacing between buildings and passageways, return the Pal to the Palbox and re-deploy it, log out and back in, or move the base to flatter terrain without cliffs.

Each Pal has specific work suitabilities — check the icons on its status screen. Pals like Cattiva and Lamball have hands for manual work; a Chikipi can only lay eggs in a farm.

Unlock and build the Feed Box, then put food in it — base Pals will eat automatically.
Source: Official Palworld FAQ ↗
SAN (sanity) drops if base Pals don't sleep in a Pal Bed at night or lack food. Build a Pal Bed, hot spring and Feed Box, and avoid overworking them.
Dark-type Pals suffer from insomnia and are especially prone to overwork.
