Coralum Ore trips up a lot of players in Palworld 1.0 because there is no ore vein to mine for it. It comes from a single Pal: Whalaska. Defeat or capture one and you get a guaranteed Coralum Ore drop, which makes farming it a matter of knowing where the Whalaska live, not where to swing a pickaxe.

The spot to head for is the Isle of the Glacial Core, in the chilly waters slightly northwest of the desert biome. Whalaska spawn there two or three at a time, so a single trip nets several drops. There's a fiery variant, Whalaska Ignis, that works the same way. Salvaging the ocean depths also yields Coralum Ore, but it's far slower — the Whalaska hunt is the efficient route.

Why bother? Coralum Ore is the gate to a whole weapon tier. It crafts the Coralum Ingot (30 Ore + 20 Coal + 5 Coralum Ore, around level 61), and that ingot feeds the high-tier guns the rush leans on — the Charge Rifle you want before Sunreach is built on it, along with the Overheat Rifle and Energy Shotgun. If you're following the veteran route, this is the material that keeps your DPS ahead of the tower bosses.
