v1.0.1 is no longer current
If you last updated in mid-July, you are two patches behind. Version 1.0.2 arrived on July 29, 2026, and hotfix 1.0.2.101103 followed on July 30. Our earlier patch article described v1.0.1 as the latest confirmed build; that was accurate at the time and is not any more.
The World Tree loading bug
The fix that matters: an infinite loading screen could occur after defeating the World Tree boss in some cases. The World Tree is the endgame zone added in 1.0 and that boss is the closing fight of the route, so the failure landed on the single encounter people had spent the whole run reaching. The hotfix addresses it directly.
Practical consequence: if you are close to the finale, install the update before the attempt rather than after. The same applies to anyone returning to a paused endgame save.
What else 1.0.2 covers
Beyond the loading fix, 1.0.2 is reported to cover Panthalus server-side fixes, multiplayer stability inside the World Tree, key rebinding and Sunreach performance. Pocketpair did not publish an itemised changelog for 1.0.2 as it did for v1.0.1, so we are citing community patch trackers here and flagging that distinction rather than presenting it as an official list.
Multiplayer and dedicated servers
The hotfix shipped on Steam first, with console builds following. If you play on a dedicated server, confirm the server and every client sit on the same build before resuming a shared World Tree run. A build mismatch produces its own connection and loading problems that look identical to the bug this patch fixes.
Nothing changed for the routes
Neither patch announces new Pals, balance changes or progression requirements. The Newcomer and Veteran routes are unaffected, and the tower order, Sunreach chain and World Tree sequence stay as documented. Route data will be reviewed again when a gameplay or balance update lands rather than a stability one.
