Palworld Coralum Ore: where to farm it fast

No vein to mine — it's a Pal drop
Coralum Ore trips up a lot of players in Palworld 1.0 because there is no ore vein to mine for it. The two sources are Pals: Whalaska, which drops 2-3 Coralum Ore per kill and spawns in small groups, and Neptilius, which drops a guaranteed 10 ore every time — a noticeably better rate per kill if you can find and fight one.
Where to farm
The main spot to head for is the Isle of the Glacial Core, in the chilly waters slightly northwest of the desert biome, where Whalaska spawn two or three at a time — a single trip nets several drops. Whalaska also spawns at Frozen Coral Hill in the Feybreak region, a useful second stop if the Glacial Core is picked over. There's a fiery variant, Whalaska Ignis, that behaves the same way. Salvaging the ocean depths and fishing also yield Coralum Ore, but both are slower than hunting Whalaska or Neptilius directly.
What it unlocks
Coralum Ore is the gate to a whole weapon tier. It crafts the Coralum Ingot (5 Coralum Ore + 30 Ore + 20 Coal, built at a Gigantic Furnace, unlocked around level 61-62), and that ingot feeds the high-tier gear the rush leans on: the Charge Rifle you want before Sunreach, the Overheat Rifle, the Energy Shotgun, the Rocket Launcher and the Ultra Grappling Gun. Ingot costs climb fast on the best items, so budget for a real grind rather than a quick farm. If you're following the veteran route, this is the material that keeps your DPS ahead of the tower bosses.
